I weep for my Guyana

I feel...

NUMB. For years now my homeland has been caught in the vices of violence fuelled by the lawlessness. The most recent act of wantoness took place last Saturday morning when armed gunmen walked into a village and brutually, cruelly, and fatally attacked the unprotected - adults and children alike.

I am...

NUMB. How much more before some action is taken? How many more must die before we are protected?

I say, I am...

Uncomfortably numb

So sorry Cynthia. I have been seeing these horrible pics on BBC and CNN about Kenya. Neighbors killing neighbors is terrible and reminds me of what happened in Gujarat few yrs ago.Hope it will end very very soon.

Like Asha said really sorry.
Here we too watch in the news.
I don't know if i really believe that all these fightings will end.
When it ends in one place it pops up in another place

I always scan the news buthave not seen this story. The US media focuses on some events rather than some others. But this is everywhere and never seems to cease. History just keeps reperting itself while we all sit back in horror and disbelief.I'm sorry its happening now in your homeland.

Cynthia, I am sorry its happening there. I heard about it from some european channels and I know exactly how you feel. I feel the same sadness about the violence in my homeland Brazil.

somehow this particular piece hasn't made its way here, or maybe I missed it. I can feel the pain in your post - the situation in most parts of the world seems quite hopeless - numbing is right. I'm so sorry.
